- Develop image/video processing algorithms targeting HVS and CV tasks
- Closed algorithms and neural network solutions are part of the solutions
- Model properties of the Image Sensor and ISP processing elements
- Define architecture of an ISP pipeline
- Determine SW<->HW partitioning (hard-wired accelerators vs. programmable parts)
- Close collaboration with the groups developing system software and SoCs
- Convert simulated algorithms to implementable HW variants e.g. conversion from floating point to fixed point representatios
- Write specification documents for imaging and video cores
- Deal with architecture trade-offs: image quality vs. performance vs. power and area
- Solve problems and troubleshoot technical issues

- Master or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing, implementing, and deploying image processing algorithms targeted for production ISPs, SoCs and/or experience with the design, simulation, and characterization of CMOS image sensors. Industrial experience with complete ISP implementations and market deployments preferred
- Expertise in the field of computer vision and image processing, especially ISP algorithms, design and architecture
- Experience with Sensor and System modelling of image processing devices, knowledge of the ISETCAM framework is a plus
- Experience in mathematical methods and algorithm development for imaging problems with the latest state of the art approaches
- Experience in embedded systems are a plus
- Experience evaluating architectural trade-offs in performance, power, and area
- Experience with fixed-point arithmetic
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and experience with MATLAB and Python is a plus, usage of version control is mandatory
- Well-developed teamwork and communication skills.
- The ability to communicate results, challenges, and solutions successfully
- A high degree of creativity, flexibility, and persistence
- Proficient in English for the daily exchange with colleagues in an international team
- Experience in the field of HDR, machine learning or experience in algorithm parallelization (multi-core, vectorization, GPU, clusters) is considered a plus
- Experience with working in larger software projects
